Easy My Family House Craft for Kids
This family house craft is a wonderful way for children to celebrate their loved ones. By building a colorful paper house and drawing their family inside, kids practice cutting, pasting, drawing, and coloring skills. It’s more than just a craft — it helps children express love for their family, boosts creativity, and makes a beautiful classroom display.
What You Need
- Printable house templates (roof, body, hearts, drawing square)
- Colored sheets (for house parts and hearts)
- White sheets (for drawing square)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or liquid glue
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Yarn or ribbon (for hanging)
How to Make
Step 1: Build the House
- Print the house roof, body, and hearts on colored sheets.
- Print the drawing square on a white sheet.
- Cut out the inside dashed square on the house body.
- Paste the roof onto the house body.
- Paste the big heart on the roof.
- Write the child’s name on the top area of the house body and paste small heart cutouts on both sides of the name.
Step 2: Draw Your Family
- Take the printed square template with the ‘Draw Here’ command.
- Let kids draw their loving family inside the glue area and color it.
- Cut along the outline of the outer box, which is the glue area.
- Apply glue on the glue area and paste it behind the house body where the empty square was cut out.
- Let it dry.
Step 3: Finish and Display
- Write “My Family” inside the big heart on the roof.
- Attach a loop of yarn or ribbon at the top.
- Hang the craft on the classroom wall for a cheerful family display.
