DIY Back to School Paper Plate Craft
Celebrate the start of the school year with a bright and creative paper plate craft! This activity is perfect for kids to make colorful decorations using school‑themed cutouts like buses, apples, crayons, and notebooks. It’s simple, fun, and adds a festive touch to classrooms or study spaces.
What You Need
- Paper plate (colored or white)
- School theme templates (bus, apple, crayons, notebook, etc.)
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue
- Board or cardboard (optional for bigger crafts)
- Yarn or ribbon for hanging
✂️ How to Make
- Make the ring base:
- I made all templates on A3 size paper.
- Use a paper plate (colored or white). Cut out the middle circle to form a ring.
- If using a white plate, color it with paints and let it dry.
- Or print the given circle template on colored/white sheets, color it, paste it on board, and cut out the middle circle.
- For a bigger craft, cut a ring directly from cardboard.
- Prepare the images:
- Print the school theme images (bus, apple, crayons, notebook, etc.) on white sheets.
- Color them neatly with crayons, markers, or pencils.
- Cut them out along the outlines.
- Use small images for paper plate crafts, or larger ones if making a big board craft.
- Arrange and paste:
- Take your ring base and paste the cutouts around it.
- Let it dry well.
- Finish and display:
- Attach a yarn or ribbon loop at the top.
- Hang your craft in the classroom or at home for a cheerful back‑to‑school decoration!
