Why Easter Egg Crafts are Fun and Educational

The main purpose of bringing the Easter Egg Crafts activity to you is to make children creative with crafts. But this activity is not limited to just creating crafts. With this craft, children will develop many skills within themselves.

Fine Motor Skills: While creating Easter Egg Crafts, children are exposed to fine movements like coloring, cutting, folding, unfolding, etc. Therefore, these fine movements help develop fine motor skills in children.

Creativity: As mentioned earlier, this is our main goal. It builds children’s creativity from the moment they start using their favorite colors until the end of the activity.

Hand-Eye Coordination: Children’s hand-eye coordination helps them to accurately manipulate scissors along cut lines and fold along folded edges. Moreover, patience and attention help children to perform these activities correctly.

Easter Fun: Through such activities related to the Easter season, children will have the opportunity to experience Easter in a practical way. It will be a good opportunity for children to recognize the characters and things associated with Easter, and to learn the cultural value of Easter. Moreover, this craft activity will help children experience the fun of Easter in a very good way.

How to Make the Cracking Easter Egg Craft

Step 1: Download and Print the Templates

First, we need to download the templates we have provided for you here. Use the PDF file provided for that. Then print it on a black and white A4-size sheet. In this blog post, we have provided you with 5 templates with 5 egg patterns. Furthermore, each egg features a cute Easter animal hiding inside.

Step 2: Color the Templates

So now we can turn this printed template into a beautiful craft. After that, all we have to do is color it beautifully. Remember, we only need to color the egg and the animal. Because then you will be able to see this design clearly. Okay, then, give the children a suitable medium for coloring. You can use colored pencils, markers, or crayons for that.

Step 3: Cut along the rectangular Line

Once the coloring is done, let’s separate this template from the printed paper. To do this, carefully cut around the rectangular line on the template. So, give the children a small pair of scissors to cut.

Step 4: Fold and put one on top of the other

This is the final stage of your craft. Okay, so you can see two lines drawn in the middle of the egg halves on the template. Now, slowly fold along the top line of those two lines. Fold it so that it goes to the back of the template.

Then bring the folded part to the bottom dotted line and align it. It will look like a whole egg. When it is unfolded again, it will look like a cracked egg.

Step 5: Crack the Egg and Reveal the Surprise!

So when the egg is finished folding, there’s something inside for the kids to surprise them with. It could be a bunny, a chick, a penguin, or a duck. So experience that surprise with this funny Easter Egg Crafts activity.

Fun Ways to Use This Craft:

Easter Card:

Children can turn their own creation into an Easter card. It’s a very easy activity to do.

  • First, take a piece of cardboard the size of a card and fold it in half.
  • Second, take your craft and fold it in half.
  • Then, glue only the bottom part of the folded craft to the front side of the cardboard.
  • Then, fold the top folded edge over the bottom edge as before and close the egg.
  • Finally, write “Happy Easter” at the top of the front of your card. Also, write a loving Easter message inside the card. You can also write, draw, or decorate it with anything you like.

Now your card is finished.

Classroom Activity:

As a Classroom Activity: You can use this wonderful creative activity to celebrate the Easter season. With this Easter-related activity, you can introduce and teach about Easter and let children experience the fun of Easter. You can do this activity individually or as a group activity.

Easter Decorations:

You can also use your finished creation as an Easter decoration.

1. Collect the children’s own creations in the classroom. Then you can string them all together and hang them as a garland in the classroom.

2. You can decorate the classroom by hanging the children’s creations on the wall display board.

3. You can create a macrame by connecting each craft into a macrame using thread and hanging it from the ceiling.

Storytelling Time Activity:

So, with this design, you can plan another classroom activity. It’s an activity that can be used during storytelling. So, give children the opportunity to create a story from the Easter egg craft they created. This builds children’s creativity. Their creation also has value.

Sharing Fun:

Since the kids have seen their creation from the beginning, it reduces the surprise of their creation. So, once your kids have finished their creation, write their name on the back. Then, share all the creations among the students in the class. Now they can be surprised by a new experience. Also, children can have fun sharing their creations with family, neighbors, and even peers.

So, you too can start this wonderful craft activity with your kids. Surely, it will help make your Easter season fun. Happy Easter! πŸŽ‰
