What You Need

  • A Printable witch and broom template
  • Printable Halloween hanging templates
  • A3 white papers
  • White or colored paper for the hanging pieces
  • Craft board or thin cardboard
  • Crayons or markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Yarn or string
  • Hole punch – optional

How to Make a Halloween Witch Mobile

All the templates are designed in A3 size. If you need a different size, simply change your printer settings to fit the template to your preferred paper size, such as A4 or Legal.

1. Choose and Print the Witch

  • Start by choosing one of the two printable witch designs.
  • For the coloring page version, print the witch and broom template on A3 white paper. Use crayons or markers to color the witch, broom, hat, and other details.
  • For the black silhouette version, print the witch silhouette on a white sheet. The witch and broom are already black, so kids only need to color and decorate the details on the witch's hat.

2. Make the Mobile Base Stronger

  • Once the witch is ready, glue the printed witch and broom onto a piece of craft board or thin cardboard.
  • Press it down gently and keep it aside until the glue is completely dry.
  • Carefully cut around the outside outline of the witch and broom. Now your Halloween mobile base is ready.

3. Print the Halloween Hanging Pieces

  • Print the Halloween hanging pictures, such as ghosts, Bats, Jack-o'-lanterns, Moon, and Stars
  • Print the pictures on white paper and color them with crayons or markers.
  • Another option is to print the simple shapes directly onto colored paper. If you use the matching colored paper, there is no need to color them.

4. Cut Out the Halloween Pictures

  • Carefully cut out each Halloween picture separately.
  • Let children choose which pieces they want to use and how they would like to arrange them on their mobile.

5. Attach Three Pieces of Yarn

  • Cut three long pieces of yarn or string.
  • Turn the witch mobile base over and use tape to attach the three strings to the back of the broom. Leave an even distance between each string so the hanging decorations are nicely spaced.
  • Make sure the tape holds each string securely.

6. Add the Hanging Halloween Pictures

  • Arrange the cutout Halloween pictures along the three pieces of yarn.
  • For example, you can combine a ghost, star, and pumpkin on one string and use a moon, bat, and ghost on another.
  • Use small pieces of tape to attach each picture to the yarn.
  • You can also punch a small hole in each picture and tie it onto the yarn instead.
  • Continue decorating until all three hanging strings are filled with your favorite Halloween characters.

7. Add a Hanging Loop

  • Attach another piece of yarn or string to the top of the witch mobile base.
  • Make a secure loop so you can easily hang the finished mobile.
  • Your Halloween witch mobile craft is now ready to display!
