How to Make a Halloween Ghost Wreath

1. Make the Wreath Base

There are a few easy ways to make your wreath base.

  1. Using the printable wreath template:
  • Print the wreath base on a colored sheet. If you print it on white paper, color the wreath first using crayons or markers.
  • Glue the printed wreath onto craft board or thin cardboard to make it stronger. Keep it aside and let the glue dry completely.
  • Cut around the outside outline, and then carefully cut out the middle section to create a ring-shaped wreath. An adult should help with cutting the center.
  1. Using a paper plate:
  • Take a paper plate and carefully cut out the middle section to make a ring. Color or paint the ring in your favorite Halloween color.
  1. Using craft board:
  • Draw a large circle on craft board, then draw a smaller circle inside it. Cut around both circles to create a simple wreath ring.

2. Print the Halloween Decorations

  • Print the ghosts, bats, stars, moon, pumpkins, haunted house, and other Halloween decorations on white paper.
  • Kids can color the pictures using crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
  • You can also print the simple shapes directly onto matching colored paper: Ghosts – white paper, Bats – black paper, Stars and moon – yellow paper, Pumpkins – orange paper, Haunted house – black paper
  • This option makes the craft quicker because you don't need to color every piece.

3. Cut Out the Halloween Pieces

  • Carefully cut around the outside outline of each Halloween picture.
  • Keep all the ghosts, bats, stars, pumpkins, moon, and haunted house pieces together so children can easily choose how they want to decorate their wreath.

4. Arrange the Decorations

  • Place the wreath base on a flat surface.
  • Before using glue, arrange the Halloween cutouts around the ring. Try placing the ghosts and bats around different parts of the wreath and filling the smaller spaces with yellow stars.
  • Add the moon near the top or side, and place the pumpkins and haunted house near the bottom.
  • Move the pieces around until you are happy with your design.

5. Glue Everything in Place

  • Once you like the arrangement, glue each Halloween cutout onto the wreath.
  • Press each piece gently so it sticks well. Keep the finished wreath aside and let the glue dry completely.

6. Add a Hanging Loop

  • Cut a piece of yarn, string, or ribbon.
  • Make a loop and securely attach it to the back of the top of the wreath with glue or tape.
  • Your Halloween ghost wreath craft is now ready to hang and enjoy!
