How to Make an Easy Fall Wreath Craft

1. Print the Templates

  • Start by choosing your favorite fall wreath design from the provided templates.
  • Print the template on a white sheet of paper. You can choose a fall leaf, hedgehog, ghost, pumpkin, or another seasonal design.

2. Color the Picture

  • Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the picture in the center of the wreath.
  • Kids can follow traditional fall colors or choose any colors they like. Leave the outside border free because you will decorate this area with tissue paper.

3. Cut Out and Add the Craft Board

  • Carefully cut around the outside outline of the wreath.
  • Place the paper wreath onto a piece of craft board or thin cardboard and glue it in place.
  • Once the glue is dry, carefully cut away the extra cardboard around the outside edge. The cardboard will make the wreath stronger and easier to hang.

4. Decorate the Wreath Border

  • Choose tissue paper in bright fall colors such as red, orange, yellow, green, and brown.
  • Tear the tissue paper into small pieces. Apply glue around the outside border of the wreath, then gently press the tissue paper pieces onto the glue. Continue adding different fall colors until the whole border is covered.
  • Apply glue around the outside border of the wreath and gently press the small tissue paper pieces onto it.
  • Continue around the whole wreath, mixing the different fall colors as you go.

5. Punch a Hole

  • Once the glue is completely dry, use a hole punch to make a small hole at the top of the wreath.
  • An adult can help younger children with this step if needed.

6. Add a Hanging Loop

  • Cut a short piece of yarn, string, or ribbon.
  • Thread it through the hole and tie the ends together to create a loop.
  • Make sure the loop is secure so the wreath can hang easily.

7. Let It Dry and Display

  • Keep your finished craft aside and let everything dry completely.
  • Your fall wreath craft is now ready to hang! Display it on a classroom wall, bulletin board, door, window, or at home as a colorful autumn decoration.
