What You Need

  • Printable fall animal wreath templates
  • White paper
  • Craft board or thin cardboard
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Paper/craft cutter – adult use only
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Ribbon
  • Printable fall leaves, acorns, pumpkins, and other decorations

How to Make a Fall Animal Wreath

1. Print the Wreath Template

  • Start by choosing your favorite fall animal wreath template, such as a hedgehog, fox, or owl.
  • You can print the template directly onto printable craft board or cardstock if your printer supports it.
  • Another easy option is to print the template on a white sheet of paper and attach it to craft board later.

2. Color the Wreath

  • Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the animal and wreath.
  • Choose warm fall colors such as orange, yellow, red, green, and brown. Kids can follow traditional autumn colors or create their own colorful design.

3. Add the Craft Board

If you printed the template on regular white paper, carefully cut around the outside outline.

Glue the paper wreath onto a piece of craft board or thin cardboard. Press it down gently so the paper sticks smoothly.

Cut away the extra board around the outside of the wreath.

Keep it aside and let the glue dry completely.

4. Cut Out the Middle of the Wreath

The center of the wreath needs to be open.

An adult should carefully use a craft or paper cutter to cut out the middle section along the printed outline.

This will create the round opening in the center of the wreath.

5. Add Fall Decorations

  • Color the small fall pictures included with the printable template. These may include fall leaves, acorns, circles, pumpkins, or other autumn shapes.
  • Carefully cut out the pieces and arrange them around the wreath.
  • Once you are happy with the arrangement, glue them in place and allow the wreath to dry.

6. Make the Hanging Center Decoration

  • Choose one of the small fall pictures, such as a leaf, acorn, or pumpkin, to hang inside the wreath.
  • Cut a piece of ribbon and tape one end to the back of the small picture.
  • Attach the other end of the ribbon to the back of the top of the wreath. Let the picture hang freely in the middle opening, as shown in the craft.

7. Add a Ribbon Loop

  • Cut another piece of ribbon and make a loop.
  • Tape or glue the loop securely to the back of the top of the wreath. This will make it easy to hang your finished craft.
  • Your fall animal wreath is now ready to display!
