Easy and Fun Fall Cat Paper Craft for Kids

Easy and Fun Fall Cat Paper Craft for Kids

In this activity, kids can make two different fall cat scenes. One shows a cute cat standing on a fence under the moon, while the other shows a cat sitting on a tree branch surrounded by colorful autumn leaves. The black paper background makes the yellow moon, stars, and bright fall leaves really stand out.

These fall cat crafts are great for preschool, Pre-K, kindergarten, and elementary-aged kids. Children can color their cats with crayons, cut out the paper pieces, and arrange everything to create their own autumn night scene.

What You Need

  • Printable templates
  • White paper for the cats
  • Black paper for the background
  • Brown colored paper for the fence and tree branch
  • Yellow colored paper for the moon and stars
  • Red, orange, yellow, and other fall-colored paper for the leaves
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Adult help may be needed when younger children are cutting out the smaller pieces.

How to Make:

There are two fun fall cat craft ideas to choose from. You can make one or try both!

1. Cat Standing on a Fence Craft

  • Start by printing the standing cat template on white paper.
  • Print the fence pieces and tree branch on brown colored paper.
  • Use yellow paper for the moon and stars.
  • Print the leaves on red, orange, yellow, or other fall-colored paper.
  • Color the cat with crayons. Kids can use gray like our example or choose any cat color they like.
  • Carefully cut out the cat and all the other printed pieces separately.
  • Take a black sheet of paper for the background.
  • First, arrange the moon, stars, fence, branch, leaves, and cat on the sheet.
  • Place the cat on top of the fence to create a cute cat standing on a fence scene.
  • Move the pieces around until you are happy with your design. Then, glue everything neatly in place.
  • Keep the craft aside and let it dry completely. Once dry, it is ready to display on a classroom wall, bulletin board, or at home.
