To make this tissue paper heart craft, you’ll need:
Heart template (Download the free PDF)
Tissue paper (Red, pink, white, or any color of your choice)
Glue (Stick glue or liquid glue)
Scissors (For cutting tissue paper)
A paintbrush or cotton swab (Optional, to spread the glue)
Valentine’s Day Tissue Paper Crafts: How to Make the Tissue Paper Heart
Step 1: Download and Print the Heart Template
Firstly, download the heart shape template from the PDF file we provided. Then print it on a fairly sturdy cardstock. Because it must be a strong model. Otherwise, after gluing the tissue, the mold may bend and break. Therefore, if you are printing on regular printer paper, stick it on cardboard to strengthen it.
Step 2: Color the thick border of the heart template
Color the thick outline of the heart shape you printed with a color of your choice. But black color is best for this. Then your design will stand out. Otherwise, you can print this template directly on colored paper or cardboard.
Step 3: Cut out the center of the heart shape
The middle part of the heart should be covered with strips of tissue. So, cut out the center of the heart shape you printed. Then you get a heart shape with a thick border.
Step 4: Cut Tissue Paper into long Strips
Next, give the children different colored tissues. Then cut them into long strips. These cut strips do not need to be perfect. So let the kids do it. Because it improves their motor skills.
Step 5: Apply Glue on the Heart
Now, take the heart shape of your print. Then apply glue along its thick border.
Step 6: Stick Tissue Paper on the Heart
Then, we stick the strips of tissue on the heart shape. Let the children match the colors as they like. Also, let them stay in different patterns. I have pasted the columns on the vertical side here. But, paste it as you like. In particular, be careful not to leave gaps between the tissue strips.
Step 7: Cut off the rest of the glued tissue strips:
After gluing the long strips, cut out the protruding parts of the heart to make it perfect.
Step 8: Let It Dry
After finishing the craft, set it aside to dry for a few minutes.
Step 9: Display or Gift It
Once dry, these beautiful hearts can be used in different ways:
