Kids will enjoy tearing or crumpling tissue paper and filling the heart shape with bright colors. The finished craft can be hung up as decoration or given as a handmade gift.

What You Need

  • White paper with a printed or drawn heart outline
  • Tissue paper in red, pink, and other bright colors
  • Scissors (optional, for cutting tissue squares)
  • Glue stick or liquid glue
  • Ribbon or string (optional, for hanging)

How to Make

  1. Prepare the heart shape — Print or draw a big heart outline on white paper.
  2. Cut or tear tissue paper — Cut tissue into small squares or tear pieces by hand.
  3. Crumple the pieces — Roll each piece into a small ball or crumple it lightly.
  4. Fill the heart — Apply glue inside the heart outline and press the tissue pieces down, covering the whole shape.
  5. Add more colors — Mix red, pink, and other colors to make the heart bright and cheerful.
  6. Optional hanging loop — Glue a ribbon or string at the top if you want to hang the heart.
  7. Let it dry and display — Once dry, your tissue paper heart is ready to show off or gift.
