Heart sponge stamping is a fun little craft that kids usually love right away. You don’t need fancy supplies or a long setup, just a heart-shaped sponge, some paint, and paper. Dip, stamp, and watch the hearts pop up like magic. The prints come out differently each time, and that’s what makes them special.

In this post, you’ll find easy heart stamping ideas you can do at home or in a classroom. They’re quick, colorful, and perfect for Valentine’s Day cards, decorations, or just a cozy art time activity.

What you need:

  • Printed templates
  • Heart-shaped sponge pieces (cut from a sponge)
  • Paints
  • Crayons or markers
  • Paper plate (or any plate) for paint

How to make it:

  • Let it dry completely, then display your artwork.
  • Choose and print the templates, or draw your own design.
  • Color the character or object on the template using crayons or markers.
  • Prepare the sponge and paints. Cut a heart shape from a sponge (adult help recommended).
  • Squeeze or pour the paint onto a paper plate (or any plate).
  • Dip the heart-shaped sponge into the paint, then stamp it onto your template to make heart prints.
