Fall is the perfect season for apple crafts! 🍎🌳 With colorful leaves, apples, and even acorns, kids can create their own apple tree using simple templates. This activity is not only fun but also helps children improve their fine motor skills, coloring, and creativity.
In this post, we are sharing free printable templates that include:
- A tree trunk coloring page
- Leaf templates
- Apples (two versions: with stem and leaves, and without)
- Acorn templates and oak leaves (kids can also use these to create an oak tree as an extra craft idea.)
Kids can use these templates to design their own apple tree scene in a fun and creative way.
Apple Template Options
To make the activity more flexible, we’ve included two different apple templates:
- Apples without stem and leaves – Kids can color and cut out the apples, paste them on the tree, and then draw their own stems and leaves. This gives them more freedom to be creative.
- Apples with stem and leaves – Another page has apples that already include stems and leaves. Kids can simply color, cut, and paste them directly on the tree for an easier option.
Both versions work beautifully, so children can choose the style they like best!
How to Make the Apple Tree Craft
Step 1: Print the Templates
Download and print the tree trunk, leaves, apples, and extra templates on white A4 paper.
Step 2: Color the Pages
Let kids color the tree trunk, leaves, apples, acorns, and oak leaves. They can use crayons, markers, or colored pencils. Encourage them to use bright fall colors like red, yellow, orange, and green.
Step 3: Cut Out the Pieces
Once the coloring is finished, carefully cut out the leaves, apples, and acorns. Younger children may require assistance with cutting.
Step 4: Create the Apple Tree
Take the tree trunk page and start pasting the leaves onto the branches. Kids can choose how full they want their tree to be—lots of leaves or just a few!
Step 5: Add Apples or Acorns
Paste the apples on the branches. If using the apple template without stems, children can draw their own stems and leaves after pasting. If using the full apple template, simply paste them as they are. Acorns can also be added for extra fall fun.
Step 6: Decorate the Ground
Paste a few leaves under the tree to make it look like they have fallen. This adds a realistic touch to the craft.
Step 7: Add Background Details
Encourage kids to draw clouds, grass, or even a sun in the background. This makes the apple tree craft look complete and unique.
