✂️🖍️ What is Pattern People Craft?
Pattern People Craft is an art activity where kids:
✔️ Use square shapes with different patterns
✔️ Arrange and paste them to make a person’s clothes
✔️ Create a smiling face, hands, and feet to complete their person
This activity is perfect for preschool and kindergarten kids to practice:
✅ Shape recognition
✅ Pattern recognition
✅ Fine motor skills
✅ Creativity
📝 How to do the Pattern People Craft
Here are step-by-step instructions for teachers, parents, and kids:
✂️ Step 1: Print the templates
Print all pattern square pages, face templates, and hands and feet templates on A4 white paper.
✅ Tip: Use thick paper or cardstock if you want your craft to last longer.
🖍️ Step 2: Color the patterns
Give kids crayons, colored pencils, or markers to color each pattern square.
Encourage them to:
- Use different colors for each pattern
- Make bright and beautiful designs
- Talk about the patterns they see (e.g., “This has zigzags,” “This has dots.”)
✂️ Step 3: Cut out the pieces
Help kids to cut out all the squares carefully along the lines. Also cut out the face, hands, and feet.
This step builds fine motor skills and improves scissor control.
🧩 Step 4: Arrange the pieces
Ask kids to arrange the squares on black chart paper or construction paper to form their person’s clothes.
They can:
- Place squares in any order they like
- Make a dress, shirt, or pants using different colored squares
- Be creative and try new arrangements
🖍️ Step 5: Paste all parts
Once happy with the arrangement:
- Paste each square one by one
- Paste the face at the top
- Paste the hands on each side
- Paste the feet at the bottom
✅ Tip: Let them press gently so all parts stick well.
😃 Step 6: Draw or decorate the face
Kids can add:
- Eyes, eyebrows, and eyelashes
- A big smile
- Pink cheeks for cuteness
This makes their Pattern People look friendly and happy.
