This blog page is dedicated to improving children’s writing skills. Here is a wonderful activity that can engage children in writing in an engaging way. This activity also helps improve pre-writing skills and develop children’s motor skills. Plus, kids can get a lot more valuable experience from this. So, try our new “sand drawing activity for kids” activity.

Children love to play with sand. So, we made the writing practice activity an activity that takes place in the sand, not in a book or worksheet. We named this wonderful activity “Sand Drawing Activity for Kids.” So, are you ready to experience this simple, easy, and fun activity?

What Is This Sand Drawing Activity?

To develop children’s pre-writing skills, we created this activity called “Sand Drawing Activity for Kids”. This is a very simple and easy activity. This is an indoor activity that can be done at school or home. Furthermore, this activity only requires a few easily available materials. We will also provide you with the most useful pattern cards for this activity for free on this blog page. So you can get it as a PDF from the link below.

In this blog post, you will receive 20 pattern cards with 20 different patterns. Additionally, all you have to do is print them out and arrange them to suit the activity. Then, let’s see what patterns are included in these pattern cards that we will give you.

What patterns are included?

We have included 20 different patterns, such as:

Turn printed paper into cards.

  • Now let’s turn your printed pages into cards.
  • The first thing you need to do is take some boards and stick your printed pages on them. Now let them dry well.
  • Then cut out the pattern cards separately from the printed pages. Here, you need to cut neatly around the outline.
  • Finally, you will get 20 pattern cards.

Prepare the sand tray

  • Next, let’s see how to make a sandbox. For this, first get a box, basin, or tray with a flat surface. One made of plastic material is best.
  • Then add clean sand to it. Remove the stones from this sand, wash it well, and dry it before using. Fine sand, such as sea sand, is best for this. After that, spread it evenly.
  • You can use other materials instead of sand to fill the container. For example, you can use materials like flour and salt. However, natural sand, which is easily available and inexpensive, is the best material for this activity.

Show the cards to the kids

  • Now, take the set of pattern cards that you printed and prepared.
  • Then you can choose one card and show it to each child. You can also let the children choose a card they like.
  • Furthermore, you can show each child several cards to encourage more activity.

Let them trace in the sand

  • This is the final step of this activity. That is, ask them to draw the same pattern in the sand using their finger or a stick.
  • It improves children’s motor skills as well as writing ability.
