Easter suncatchers are a fun way to brighten up your windows with color and light! Kids will love making egg‑shaped suncatchers decorated with chicks, bunnies, or flowers. This craft is easy, creative, and perfect for celebrating spring and Easter.

What You Need

  • Egg shape template
  • Silhouette image (chick, bunny, flower, etc.)
  • White sheet or black paper
  • Crayons, markers, or paint
  • Colored tissue paper strips
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ribbon (for hanging)
  • Hole punch

How to Make

  1. Print the templates – Print the egg shape and silhouette image on a white sheet.
  2. Color the outline – Decorate the egg outline using crayons, markers, or paint.
    • Or, draw your egg shape directly on black paper.
  3. Cut the egg – Cut out the middle part of the egg, leaving only the thick outline.
  4. Add tissue paper – Paste colorful tissue paper strips inside the egg shape to fill it.
  5. Trim neatly – Cut away extra tissue pieces to make the edges clean.
  6. Add the silhouette – Cut out your chosen silhouette image and paste it in the center of the egg.
  7. Finish and hang – Punch a hole at the top, attach a ribbon, and hang your suncatcher in a sunny window.
