This umbrella craft is bright, fun, and perfect for spring or rainy‑day art! Kids can decorate their umbrellas with flowers, butterflies, dots, or stickers, and even add a pipe cleaner handle to make it look real. It’s simple, creative, and makes a cheerful decoration for the home or the classroom.
What You Need:
- Umbrella templates (fabric part or full umbrella)
- Colored paper or white paper
- Crayons/markers
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cardboard square or colored sheet for background
- Tissue paper, ribbons, stickers, or glitter for decoration
- Pipe cleaners (dark color for umbrella handle)
How to Make:
- Print the umbrella template. Choose either:
- Fabric part only
- Full umbrella image. Print on colored paper, or print on white paper and color it.
- Draw or print extra decorations (flowers, butterflies, dots, stars, etc.) on colored sheets. You can also use tissue paper to make flowers or ribbons for butterflies.
- Cut out all the pieces separately.
- Take a colored cardboard square for the background.
- Paste your umbrella in the center of the background.
- Paste your cutout decorations on the umbrella to make it colorful. You can also draw patterns directly on the umbrella.
- Take a dark pipe cleaner. Cut a small piece for the umbrella top, and a longer piece for the handle and stick. Bend the bottom a little to look like a real umbrella handle.
- Paste the pipe cleaner pieces onto the umbrella fabric part.
- Let it dry, then proudly display your colorful umbrella craft!
