Winter is the perfect time for cozy crafts! This hot cocoa mug project is fun, colorful, and easy for kids to make. With just paper, crayons, and a little cotton, children can create their own steaming mug of cocoa against a snowy background. It’s a cheerful activity for classrooms or family craft time, and the finished mugs look wonderful displayed on a window or wall.
What You Need
- White A4 paper
- Blue, white, and yellow paints or crayons
- Mug templates (rectangles and handles)
- Crayons or markers for coloring
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Cotton balls (for steam)
How to Make
- Make the background: Take a white A4 sheet. Color the whole page blue using paint or crayons. Add small white dots to look like falling snow. Let it dry.
- Prepare the mug: Print the mug templates on white A4 paper. You’ll have rectangles for the cup and handles. Choose the cup pattern you like, then color it with crayons or markers.
- Cut and fold: Cut out the rectangle shape and the handle separately. Fold both sides of the rectangle along the dashed lines. Apply glue to the folded sides.
- Paste the mug: Stick the glued sides onto your snowy background so the rectangle looks like a cup. Attach the handle to the side with glue.
- Add steam: Take cotton balls and glue them at the top of your mug to look like steam rising.
- Display your craft: Once dry, your hot cocoa mug is ready to show off! Hang it on a wall, window, or keep it as a cozy winter decoration.
