Today, we are going to prepare a colorful holiday craft. So the children can join in this experience with colorful paints and ornament templates. Moreover, this is a great opportunity for children to think creatively and develop their fine motor skills. So, let’s see how to make this craft.

What You Need:

  • Printed ornament templates
  • Colorful paints
  • Round sponge brush or pom pom ball with tweezers
  • Optional: Scissors, glue, glitter, dot stickers, extra pom pom balls

How to Make:

  • Step 1: Print the ornament templates on white or light-colored paper.
  • Step 2: Prepare your paint colors. Pour them onto paper plates or small trays for easy access.
  • Step 3: Dip your round sponge brush or pom pom ball (held with tweezers) into the paint. Dab colorful dots onto the ornament template. Let it dry.
  • Step 4: Cut out the ornaments, laminate them if you like, and decorate your classroom for a festive look!

Tips for Teachers:

  • You can swap paint for dot stickers, pom pom balls, or colored paper circles.
  • Turn this into a learning activity:

Learning Ideas:

  1. Color Recognition: Ask kids to use red paint for dots along the first line. Use blue and yellow for the top part of the ornament.
  2. Counting Practice: Say, “Put 10 green dots on your ornament.”
  3. Patterns and Shapes: Guide them to follow the zigzag line with dots, or place dots in square shapes.
  • If you’re not using it as a learning page, let kids choose their own colors and patterns. This boosts creativity and confidence!
