2. Color the brush and Leaves

Get a coloring medium that is suitable and easy for children to use. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are best for this. Next, distribute the templates you printed among the children. Then, instruct the children to color the autumn leaves and the brush on the templates. They can use their favorite color for the brush. But when coloring the autumn leaves, guide the children to use autumn colors. That is, children can use autumn colors such as red, brown, yellow, and orange.

3. Cut Out the Leaves

Now take the colorful autumn leaf templates. Then carefully cut around the autumn leaves with scissors. Cut out as many leaves as possible in this way. It is also important to cut the leaves so that their shape is not distorted.

If younger children have difficulty cutting, complete this step yourself. Otherwise give them the last page with the large leaves included in these templates to try cutting.

4. Make brush bristles:

Now let’s create the bristles of the brush. For that, take a colored paper that matches the color of the brush bristles. That is, you can choose a color like brown, orange, white, black, or yellow for the brush bristles.

Cut a strip of colored paper about 1 inch high and 3 inches wide. (Adjust the measurements here to fit the top of the brush.) Draw small straight lines across the strip. Make them evenly spaced. Leave the end part without lines so it stays uncut. Then instruct the children to cut along those lines using scissors.

Finally, place the uncut part of the paper strip over where the brush bristles should be and glue it in place.

  1. Fabric Scraps or Felt Pieces
  2. Yarn or String
  3. Colored Drinking Straws (cut lengthwise)
  4. Ribbon
  5. Natural Materials (like dried grass or coconut husk)

5. Glue the Leaves on the Brush Page

To do this step, take the leaves that you cut out earlier. Then they should be glued onto the brush bristles so that they spread out. Let the children arrange and glue these leaves according to their ideas.

6. Add paint Dots Around the Leaves

This is the final step. For this, take the autumn shades of paint in colors. Now you need to put dots in those colors around the glued leaves. For this, you can use fingers, cotton swabs, etc. as a support. It will add more beauty to your creation.

Let the page dry if you’re using paint.
